Naajia Raja is the Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher at Tarbiyah Learning Academy. She graduated from University of Toronto with a Specialist in Sociology. Before getting into Teaching, she worked in the Research Department at various hospitals in the GTA. She was always very affectionate towards children and wanted a career involving children. In 2009, Naajia began to teach grade 3 at the Ottawa Islamic School, and through it, she discovered her professional calling and passion.
She joined Tarbiyah Learning Academy in 2014 and has been with the school since then, teaching various grade levels. Her primary objective for teaching is to inspire a love for learning aimed towards an Islamic environment within children, as the saying goes, “It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.” (Ann Landers). When Naajia is not teaching she enjoys spending quality time with her family, her husband and three children.
